About the Role
The Pathologist Assistant role assists in the performance of surgical pathology services in a hospital based setting. Join our hospital based practice in Austin, TX! Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of our communities as a leader in anatomic pathology laboratory solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform macroscopic evaluations on simple and complex specimens
- Frozen section coverage
- Triage fresh tissue for lymphoma
- Assist pathologist in obtaining pertinent pathology reports on malignant cases
- Gather material for tumor board presentations
- Maintain the dissecting space (ie. temperature logs, stain line, supplies)
Requirements
- Completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists Assistant program
- ASCP licensure (or eligible with completion within 30 days of hire)
