About the Role
This position is accountable for the cleanliness of the center common area, including the parking lot, common sidewalks, and service bays. Responsibilities include emptying trash receptacles, tenant dumpsters, and operating a trash compactor.
Responsibilities
- Routinely inspects and patrols the interior and exterior of the facility performing custodial duties.
- Gathers trash and empties trash receptacles.
- Operates a trash compactor and trash carts.
- Operates janitorial equipment to maintain property cleanliness.
- Operates high-reach or lift equipment for debris removal and cleaning of elevated surfaces.
- Assists other departments with cleaning and patrolling during events.
- Establishes procedures for scheduled cleaning of facility areas.
- Maintains a professional and cooperative working relationship with management and co-workers.
- Performs job in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensures maintenance of inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Notes and reports damaged or missing property, missing trash containers, and other problems to the supervisor.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to effectively present information to departmental management, employees, tenants, and outside contacts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to define problems, collect information, and establish facts.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Knowledge of safety rules, hazards, and application of accident prevention measures.
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
