About the Role
Orchard is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its fast-growing Legal & Regulatory team. This role will play a pivotal role in shaping Orchard’s legal strategy as the company continues to expand and innovate in the residential real estate sector. This position partners closely with teams across the organization to support new product development, market expansion, and the evolution of business lines, all while balancing business objectives with legal and regulatory risk.
Responsibilities
- Operates across all business units, providing guidance on commercial and regulatory matters.
- Serves as the primary legal contact for commercial partnerships.
- Supports the growth of Orchard’s mortgage and title businesses.
- Collaborates with Product & Engineering to ensure compliant innovation.
- Engages with state regulators.
- Manages outside counsel.
- Contributes to the ongoing development of data privacy and information security policies.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of broad-based legal experience.
- Experience with commercial contracts.
- Experience with regulatory matters.
- Experience within both law firm and in-house environments.
- Strong judgment.
- Autonomy.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
