About the Role
As an Assistant Production Manager, you will support the Production Manager in leading a large team responsible for sorting, processing and preparing stock for the retail stores. You’ll play a hands-on role in driving daily output, supporting team performance and maintaining strong operational standards, while building the capability to step into a Production Manager role over time.
Responsibilities
- Support the leadership of a high-volume production team
- Help drive daily output, productivity and workflow across the production floor
- Monitor team performance and support adjustments to meet targets
- Maintain quality standards and consistency of processed stock
- Support safe work practices and ensure processes are followed
- Step into leadership of the production floor when required
- Coordinate workflow to ensure production targets are met
- Support team members to improve pace and quality of work
- Monitor output and adjust resources in real time
- Assist with onboarding and training of new team members
- Ensure safety processes and standards are followed
- Work closely with other leaders to ensure stock flow meets demand
Requirements
- Experience in retail, QSR hospitality, production, warehousing, logistics or similar environments
- Experience leading or supervising teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A practical, work-on-the-floor leadership style
- A focus on productivity, quality and team performance
- A willingness to learn and take on more responsibility
- Have a LF forklift license
- Further processes such as police checks may form part of the application process
