About the Role
The Technical Project Manager is a trusted project implementation leader and advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on technology implementations, relocations, or enhancements. This role involves developing relationships to deliver total technology solutions, increasing sales, profitability, and maintaining client loyalty through project implementation. The Project Manager is responsible for project planning, execution leadership, and serves as the top-level escalation point for project implementations.
Responsibilities
- Manage site level and/or enterprise-wide projects.
- Manage multisite programs to ensure consistency with a common customer.
- Apply PMI methodology and internal processes to define project technology scope, budget, schedule, and deliverable expectations.
- Develop complex project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Interact with diverse personalities internally and externally to develop business relationship skills for repeatable assignments.
- Implement project timelines and plans, target clients, and ensure projects meet client objectives.
- Elicit, document, and validate client IT facilities requirements using site visits and client interviews.
- Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address project questions or challenges.
- Lead client project update meetings and manage changes in project scope.
- Review project status, potential risks, and general project scheduling.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
- Engage in self-directed continuous improvement of project planning & execution.
Requirements
- College or University degree or comparable experience in project management.
- Ability to apply project management methodologies and strategies to reduce potential project risk.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to move projects to completion.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to demonstrate client sensitivity.
- High-level understanding of Cloud Implementations and Migrations involving Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.
- Knowledge of networks, routers, firewalls, switching, circuits, wireless access points, and workstation profile setups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project & Visio.
- Capable of multitasking in a high pace environment, effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to work in an independent environment with moderate supervision.
- Ability to work under a moderate noise level.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to travel for business and work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
- Ability to be flexible and successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
