About the Role
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will own how Genius AI models, defines, and trusts its data, sitting at the intersection of data and business to curate data for insights, strategy, and decision-making. You will design the dbt project that sets the standard for understanding customer behavior and AI-powered product decisions, challenging existing processes and shipping changes rapidly.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of our dbt project, including design patterns, modeling standards, and best practices for a fast-growing codebase.
- Partner with PDE teams to support new features and architectural changes by reviewing design docs, creating/updating dbt models, and validating metrics and reports.
- Build, refactor, and optimize dbt models to create accurate, scalable datasets, iterating weekly and correcting based on data feedback.
- Use AI to build automated testing, documentation, and data-access workflows that scale beyond individual capacity.
- Collaborate with data engineering to shape ingestion and transformation pipelines across Segment, Fivetran, and Airflow.
- Drive data privacy, governance, and quality standards to protect data integrity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or reporting engineer.
- 2+ years of hands-on dbt development.
- Experience building AI-assisted workflows for modeling, testing, or documentation.
- Ability to set a direction, ship, and iterate based on learning.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, with a track record of writing fast and readable models.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT development principles, and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Hex, Segment, Matia, Fivetran, Airflow is preferred.
