About the Role
The Data Scientist will lead data science initiatives focused on price optimization and opportunity identification, leveraging market fundamentals and internal supply/demand signals to drive business profitability, increase efficiency, and improve decision-making. This role is crucial in developing the Pricing Advanced Analytics Infrastructure and identifying opportunities to use data science as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop algorithms and models to create Pricing insights from large datasets.
- Serve as a technical lead for Pricing within large data analytics project teams.
- Lead small projects and work independently on solution development.
- Execute tasks with high levels of efficiency and quality.
- Select, utilize, and interpret advanced econometric and analytical methodologies.
- Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present recommendations confidently to influence execution.
- Prepare reports, updates, and presentations on project progress.
- Clearly communicate the impacts of recommendations to drive alignment and implementation.
- Incorporate business inputs into solution approaches.
- Develop trust and collaboration with internal customers and cross-functional teams.
- Seek knowledge on developments in econometrics, data science, technical skill sets, and data sources.
- Build and maintain a library of reusable analytics with documented methodologies.
- May provide work direction to entry-level financial analysts.
Requirements
- Three to five years of related work experience is required, depending on education level.
Skills
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Mastery utilizing statistical techniques to identify key insights that help solve business problems
- Demonstrated proficiency in predictive modeling techniques such as optimization, forecasting, or recommendation engines
- Demonstrated proficiency in data mining, exploratory data analysis, and predictive modeling
- Experience with pricing software and systems
