About the Role
This position contributes to solution design, departmental strategies, and resource allocations. Responsibilities include problem resolution, systems development, and daily activities, with a focus on developing less experienced personnel and providing training opportunities. The role may involve serving as a technical representative on committees and projects, interacting with technology staff, leadership, architecture, application teams, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Consult with internal application owners on business requirements and recommend RDBMS changes.
- Build positive client relationships by addressing needs with minimal complexity, risks, and costs.
- Build rapport within the organization, vendors, and professional organizations.
- Perform vendor/product analysis and provide recommendations.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for database enhancements.
- Recommend RDBMS designs for enhancements, efficiency efforts, or problem resolutions.
- Identify and address design issues and concerns proactively.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the business environment to provide expert guidance.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced personnel.
- Manage, oversee, and review complex project plans, ensuring task understanding and issue mitigation.
- Focus on project execution and production support for applications.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on initiatives, changes, and maintenance.
- Serve as an SME to the Application Database Services team for RDBMS functionality and testing.
- Assist in coordinating integrated testing efforts to identify issues.
- Recommend RDBMS designs to support internal and external customer needs.
- Ensure identification and resolution of issues related to enhancements and problem resolution.
- Recommend new RDBMS technology, policies, or processes to enhance applications.
- Provide functional feedback on vendor software and RDBMS changes to stakeholders.
- Identify performance and effectiveness enhancement opportunities and recommend improvements.
- Maintain internal control standards, including audit points and regulatory issues.

- Understand and adhere to risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates degree and a minimum of 8 years RDBMS experience, OR a combined minimum of 10 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 8 years RDBMS experience.
- Prior experience working simultaneously on multiple projects of a complex nature.
- Experience leading large system and RDBMS enhancements, conversions, and production problem resolution.

Experience Level
- 8 years RDBMS experience
- 10 years combined higher education and/or work experience
- 3 years experience with Bank applications, framework, business needs and RDBMS direction and framework (preferred)
