About the Role
Data is central to trawa's operations, forming the foundation of our product and enabling customers to leverage energy market insights for savings and sustainability. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Intelligence team, responsible for the technical direction of critical systems including metering data management and invoicing/billing services. This role involves shaping a team culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous learning, reporting to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap for our central data warehouse and the data platform.
- Build a scalable data backend for key energy provider processes, including timeseries data management, invoicing, and billing services.
- Lead the design and operation of critical data pipelines, data quality standards, observability practices, and platform infrastructure on AWS.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a technical leadership role with people management responsibilities, ideally in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Experience leading teams, balancing competing priorities, and fostering an environment where engineers excel.
- Hands-on experience building or leading a scalable data platform.
- Confidence in driving architecture decisions for pipelines, data modeling, and analytics infrastructure.
- Clear communicator who builds trust and fosters collaboration across teams and with non-technical stakeholders.
- Inclusive leader who creates an environment where engineers of diverse backgrounds and experiences can thrive.
