About the Role

Totten is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their downtown Toronto office. This role involves providing exceptional customer service to broker partners and expanding Totten's presence in the Professional Liability segment. You will be part of a dynamic and knowledgeable team at one of Canada's leading MGAs.

Responsibilities

Manage an assigned book of Professional Liability business, including risk analysis, negotiating terms and conditions, and operating within assigned authority.
Work towards providing or finding solutions for all stakeholders.
Support Underwriters with policy issuance, coding, and endorsements.
Maintain a high level of broker visibility through regular sales calls.
Build rapport with domestic insurer partners and Lloyd's broker partners.
Demonstrate effective workflow management through prioritization and a sense of urgency.
Handle account inquiries from broker partners and internally.
Collaborate with other business segments at Totten to leverage cross-sell opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience.
RIBO Licensed Required (or within the first 3 months of employment).
Strong technical and analytical skills.
A strong work ethic, good organizational skills, and the ability to work within a team environment.
Strong communication skills: written and verbal.
Strong time management skills, goal-oriented, and self-directed.
Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience with TAM or Policy Works broker management systems is an asset.
