About the Role
Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries like food, mining, and transport. This role is crucial for designing, constructing, and commissioning data centers that power these operations, ensuring efficiency and scalability in the physical world.
Responsibilities
- Own data center projects from design through construction, energization, commissioning, and turnover, with accountability for cost, schedule, scope, quality, and risk.
- Help build Atoms’ data center development and construction program from the ground up, establishing standards, processes, and a playbook.
- Apply a first-principles approach to design and build, challenging industry conventions to find better delivery methods.
- Drive project execution, understand the critical path, identify risks early, and solve problems before they impact key milestones.
- Lead coordination across electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, fire/life safety, and architectural scopes.
- Drive utility coordination, permitting, inspections, energization, and commissioning.
- Manage consultants, general contractors, specialty trades, equipment vendors, and commissioning providers.
- Own procurement and delivery of critical and long-lead equipment, including transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, and cooling systems.
- Review and challenge designs, schedules, estimates, change orders, and technical proposals.
- Determine root cause of problems, develop options, recommend a path forward, and drive resolution.
Requirements
- 7+ years delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects, with meaningful data center or mission-critical experience.
- Experience working for a general contractor strongly preferred.
- Strong technical and field understanding of MEP systems, constructability, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and means and methods.
- Experience delivering projects through utility energization, equipment startup, commissioning, and turnover.
- Strong command of critical-path scheduling, cost management, procurement, and change management.
- Ability to read and challenge drawings, specifications, schedules, estimates, submittals, RFIs, and technical proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and solve difficult problems under aggressive timelines.
- Comfortable operating without an established playbook and turning lessons learned into repeatable standards and processes.
- Clear, concise communicator who surfaces risks early and comes prepared with solutions.

About the Company
- Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.
- Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that.
- Atoms builds Physical AI— real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.
- This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don’t just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.
- We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.
- If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.
Equal Opportunity
- Atoms accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
