About the Role
As a hospice aide, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care that helps patients remain comfortable and maintain dignity throughout their end-of-life journey. Working alongside your team, you will give your best each day in service of our core commitment: Delivering compassionate, personalized care with heartfelt empathy, honoring the wishes of each patient who entrusts VITAS with their end-of-life journey.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, mobility and activities of daily living
- Support nutrition, including simple meal preparation and feeding
- Provide light homemaking support related to the patient’s care
- Help patients maintain independence and participate in activities meaningful to them
- Observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to the registered nurse
Requirements
- Approved hospice aide, home health aide or nurse aide training and competency
- Ability to travel as required by the role
- One year of direct patient care experience preferred
