About the Role
The Cook is responsible for preparing congregate meals for our congregate meal programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the kitchen in a sanitary and safe condition.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food according to recommended instructions.
- Make local food purchases when necessary.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and areas according to Health Department ordinances.
- Maintain inventory of food and household supplies on hand and as needed.
Requirements
- Must possess Food Handling Certification.
- Previous related experience in food preparation.
- Ability to read and write English in order to follow written menus, recipes, and work schedules.
- Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand.
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with other staff and residents.
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
