This includes leading scope, schedule and budget management, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation and coordinated delivery across a diverse program of work. Success in this role requires strong project delivery capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. You bring a solutions-oriented mindset, experience working with clients and multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams, and the communication, negotiation, and consensus-building skills needed to advance projects.
Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the project administration processes for external consultant(s), contractors, and PMSPs and specialty vendors, including financial management of contracts, negotiations, dispute resolution, and/or interpretation and terms of agreement(s) on behalf of the organization.
- Attend meetings and site visits as required with various stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, briefings, and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners to support decision-making and introduce new concepts or approaches.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to establish project governance, processes, and procedures that support effective delivery and advance IO’s business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience and education in a discipline related to infrastructure planning, design, or construction (e.g., Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related fields).
- Hands-on experience in the management and/or oversight of consultants and contractors on projects with relevant scope (feasibility studies, functional programming, design, market engagement, construction, demolition, etc.).
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and construction methodologies.
- Solid understanding of traditional design and construction contract models (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Management), including familiarity with relevant CCDC contracts and OAA Document 600.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, building codes, OHS regulations and the Construction Act.
- Experience reading and understanding schedules, technical drawings, specifications and other typical industry deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
