About the Role
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior/Lead Data Scientist to join our team, with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, spending 2 days per week at a local MANTECH office in Raleigh, NC, Arlington, VA, or Charlottesville, VA. The Senior/Lead Data Scientist will apply their strong technical background in Python and expertise in advanced AI/ML solutions to design, develop, and validate marketing mix models or other causal models, build LLM-powered MVP-type applications and tools, and contribute to or lead other general data science projects. You will translate complex data into actionable insights while working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Developing, testing, and validating marketing mix models (MMM) or other causal models, where standard model fit metrics alone are insufficient.
- Rapidly prototyping and building production-ready MVPs using Python, Snowflake, Microsoft Copilot, and other components.
- Engaging directly with technical and non-technical clients to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable analytical solutions.
- Establishing or communicating best practices for modeling and data science to ensure model accuracy, reliability, and business impact across complex data environments.
- Collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to drive data science best practices and communicate technical findings to customer leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in data science and machine learning.
- Proven hands-on experience building and deploying tools or systems in Python that make use of generative AI (e.g., RAG pipelines, agentic workflow, or similar using Python).
- Demonstrated expertise in building and validating marketing mix modeling (MMM) or other causal models.
- US citizenship required.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
