About the Role
As a security expert at IONOS, you will translate security requirements into robust technical concepts and verify their effectiveness. You will drive the development of our Secure SDLC alongside development teams, conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews, and design modern IAM concepts. Your role involves managing vulnerability and penetration testing, specifying logging and monitoring requirements, and automating evidence collection within CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and advancement of our Secure SDLC directly alongside development teams.
- Conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews early in the design phase.
- Design modern IAM concepts (role models, authorization logic, recertification processes) and define cryptographic standards and baselines.
- Manage vulnerability and penetration test management: scanning, CVSS assessment, prioritization, and remediation tracking.
- Specify logging, monitoring, and error handling requirements and oversee their implementation.
- Design and evaluate technical business continuity (BC) and recovery tests.
- Automate evidence collection (Compliance as Code) directly within team CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- Several years of in-depth practical experience with Linux and modern cloud infrastructure (including containers, orchestration, and networking).
- Practical experience in vulnerability scanning, CVSS assessment, and triage of penetration test findings.
- Proficient scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Infrastructure as Code), ideally already used for automated evidence generation.
- A good sense for security design principles and threat modeling.
- Strong consulting and review competence; successfully implement security requirements with Dev and Ops teams without removing their technical responsibility.
- Experience with SAST, DAST, and SCA tooling.
- Experience with DefectDojo as a vulnerability management platform; SIEM and monitoring platforms.
- Experience with IAM/PAM and PKI (operated by partner teams).
- Deep integration into CI/CD pipelines and ticketing systems for automated evidence generation.
- Fluent German and English language skills (min. C1 level).
