About the Role

As Jacob’s Director of Supply Chain, you will own the end-to-end supply chain, from raw material procurement through manufacturing, inventory, freight, and fulfillment. Your mission is to build a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable operation that consistently delivers excellent products and keeps DTC and retail channels in stock. You will have broad autonomy to build and run the function, personally driving both day-to-day execution and the systems and processes that make it dependable. This is a hands-on leadership role in a business that is still building its operational infrastructure, seeking someone who has experience in a growing food or adjacent CPG business and wants to take ownership of building it at Jacob.

Responsibilities

  • Own manufacturing performance, leading production planning and execution with contract manufacturers.
  • Build manufacturing resilience through capacity planning and supply continuity.
  • Own procurement and supplier relationships, managing ingredient and packaging procurement.
  • Lead demand and supply planning, translating forecasts into operational plans.
  • Build reliable inventory systems, maintaining accurate quantities and status across the network.
  • Reconcile production and inventory, tracking movements and investigating discrepancies.
  • Own freight and fulfillment, managing movement and overseeing delivery performance.
  • Protect product quality by collaborating with food scientists and consultants.
  • Improve supply-chain economics and visibility, tracking costs and establishing performance measures.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in supply chain or operations at a CPG company, including leadership or substantial functional ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience building supply-chain systems and processes in a growing business with limited infrastructure; food or beverage experience strongly preferred.
  • Track record of managing contract manufacturing, procurement, inventory, freight, and fulfillment across DTC and retail channels.
  • Strong planning and commercial judgment, with the ability to balance service levels, product quality, cost, and cash requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy, reconciliation, and follow-through.
  • Comfortable personally executing day-to-day tasks while building the broader function.
  • Clear communication, strong vendor-management skills, and the judgment to act independently.
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing and logistics partners as needed.
