About the Role
The Joseph Gallagher Group is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for a major tunneling project. This is a long-term role with potential for permanent employment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Tunnel fitters working on Shafts SCL and Handworks with various plant and specialist tunneling equipment.
- Assist and advise project management with technical procedures and solutions for mechanical aspects of work.
- Advise on ordering of plant and equipment.
- Coordinate with engineering, electrical, and mining teams.
- Oversee plant checks and repairs.
- Attend 'black hat meetings and plant forums'.
- Ensure the safety and availability of plant equipment in good working order.
Requirements
- CSCS Level 3 in construction plant maintenance and repair (or similar).
- Previous experience with Plant equipment is essential.
- Supervisor qualification e.g SSSTS, SMSTS.
- Able to manage staff effectively to complete work loads.
