About the Role

As an industrial placement student in Treasury, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop future-ready skills, and contribute to projects that deliver banking that’s fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society. Responsibilities

Gain hands-on experience in teams that help keep Nationwide financially safe, secure and sustainable.
Gain insight into how a major financial institution manages risk, plans for uncertainty and makes important financial decisions.
Work with teams responsible for Balance Sheet Risk Reporting & Forecasting, Balance Sheet Frameworks, Modelling & Strategy, Recovery, Resolution & Financial Resilience, and Cash Management, Settlements & Treasury Operations.
Develop practical skills in financial analysis, data interpretation, problem solving and stakeholder collaboration.
Gain exposure to how Treasury supports decision-making across the Society.
Analyse financial risks, support forecasting and reporting activities, contribute to resilience planning, assist with liquidity and funding processes, or work on projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Treasury operations.
Gain valuable insight into how Nationwide prepares for changing economic conditions, manages financial risk and maintains the resilience needed to support millions of customers and members.
Contribute to meaningful work while receiving the support needed to learn and grow.
Participate in induction, development support and structured learning to settle in, build confidence and understand the role.
Gain access to a bespoke 12-month project aligned to our Social Impact strategy, providing opportunities to develop core business skills while working alongside other Industrial Placement students.
Gain hands-on experience while following a personalised learning pathway tailored to your role.
Receive mentoring, development sessions and support from experienced colleagues to build skills, confidence and professional network.
Successfully completing the placement may help shape future career choices and could provide a route into our Finance & Commercial Insight Development Programmes.

Desire to get involved in activities across the Finance department, such as working with our recognition teams or Network and Knowledge events.
Studying towards an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
Must demonstrate right to work in the UK on commencement of employment and for the duration of the programme without requiring sponsorship.
