About the Role
Woven by Toyota is contributing to Toyota's once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a history of inventing for others, our mission is to expand the definition of mobility, extend how mobility can serve society, and challenge the norms of mobility with human-centered innovation. We operate around four pillars: AD/ADAS, Arene (vehicle software production platform for SDVs), Woven City (mobility test course), and Cloud & AI (digital infrastructure supporting collaboration). We are united in our pursuit of a zero-traffic-accident society and the mass production of happiness.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and manage MaaS product strategy, vision, roadmap, and success metrics, connecting user value, business goals, and the path from initial validation to scaled deployment.
- Lead continuous hypothesis validation in the field, including observation and interviews with drivers, residents, operators, and government officials.
- Prioritize features based on user impact, business value, technical feasibility, risks, and learning velocity from hypothesis validation, translating them into outcome-based backlogs, product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with product designers to define user flows, interactions, prototypes, and final UI, validating through usability testing and field feedback.
- Streamline and enhance product management processes such as information gathering/analysis, hypothesis building, and requirement definition using various tools, including generative AI.
- Take responsibility for user value and product decisions, collaborating with Business, Engineering, and Design leads, and coordinating with operations, legal, government, and mobility providers to lead everything from hypothesis validation and requirements definition to release, field operation, and improvement.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of practical experience in planning and developing digital products, with over 5 years in a Product Manager role or equivalent product leadership position.
- Proven track record of leading mobile or web products from strategy/planning definition through release and continuous improvement, including at least one experience in hypothesis validation for a 0-to-1 or new product.
- Experience defining end-to-end user journeys and common features across multiple user groups, functional areas, or external service integrations.
- Practical understanding of software architecture and system design, ability to appropriately judge the technical feasibility and trade-offs of complex products, and practical experience leading development in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, and work experience in a Japanese company.

About the Company
- Woven by Toyota is contributing to Toyota's once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company.
- Our mission is to expand the definition of mobility, extend how mobility can serve society, and challenge the norms of mobility with human-centered innovation.
- We operate around four pillars: AD/ADAS, Arene (vehicle software production platform for SDVs), Woven City (mobility test course), and Cloud & AI (digital infrastructure supporting collaboration).
- We are united in our pursuit of a zero-traffic-accident society and the mass production of happiness.
- Toyota is redefining mobility, moving people, goods, information, and energy, and challenging the norms of mobility.
- Woven City serves as a test course for creating and testing various mobilities, aiming for the mass production of happiness with the concepts of a human-centered city, a city for実証実験 (demonstration experiments), and an unfinished city.
- By expanding the possibilities of mobility, we contribute to people's happiness.
- In an era where resource shortages such as driver and energy shortages are predicted, mobility can contribute more by becoming more advanced, versatile, and efficient.
- The Mobility City Development team develops mobility ecosystems and supporting platforms that provide value to society by connecting various Toyota mobilities, not just advanced products like autonomous driving, eVTOL, and micro-mobility demonstrated in Woven City.
- This division deploys these platforms into the real world and cultivates them into sustainable and scalable businesses.
- We create new services that improve people's mobility and urban value by combining software, mobility, and urban development in collaboration with mobility operators, local governments, and Toyota group partners.
- Currently, we are developing MaaS systems that support the provision and operation of mobility services and end-user applications as an integrated product.
- In the future, we will expand the possibilities of our products while considering integration with other services, systems, and urban infrastructure.
- This is a job that not only creates digital products but also changes the actual urban mobility experience through those products.
- We emphasize 'Genchi Genbutsu' (Go and See) and a 'Fieldwork-first' approach.
- We learn directly from users and operators in the implementation regions and translate those insights into products that generate measurable value in collaboration with Business, Design, and Engineering teams.
Equal Opportunity
- We provide equal employment opportunities and respect diversity.
- Personal information received will be used solely for recruitment and onboarding purposes. Please refer to our Personal Information Policy for details.
