About the Role
As an Enterprise Architect (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the further development and professionalization of our Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) and our global IT and cloud architecture. You will define technical target architectures, establish binding architecture standards, and ensure their implementation in complex transformation and implementation projects – with a clear focus on scalability, security, operational capability, and pragmatic feasibility.
Responsibilities
- Further development and establishment of global EAM processes, methods, standards, and decision-making paths.
- Development and maintenance of target architectures for applications, data, integration, technology, and cloud.
- Definition and enforcement of architectural principles, technical standards, and governance requirements for cloud and on-premise environments.
- Evaluation and prioritization of architectural variants considering dependencies, risks, costs, security, and long-term operational capability.
- Moderation and technical leadership of complex architectural decisions up to management level.
- Definition and further development of cloud architectures for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and hybrid scenarios.
- Control and technical support of complex cloud migrations and modernization programs from target architecture to implementation.
- Evaluation of cloud platforms and services regarding scalability, security, compliance, data residency, integration capability, redundancy, and exit capability.
- Definition and further development of cloud governance, landing zones, operating models, as well as technical and security-relevant standards.
- Evaluation of new technologies and derivation of concrete recommendations for action for the future IT architecture.
- Creation and evaluation of architectural variants including TCO, license models, cloud consumption, operating, and follow-up costs.
- Evaluation of make-or-buy, platform, and sourcing decisions from a technical and economic perspective.
- Identification of cost and complexity reduction potentials through standardization, consolidation, automation, and decommissioning.
- Technical evaluation of cloud and IT providers as well as their platform, contract, and operating models.
- Evaluation and control of technical risks from vendor lock-in, license dependencies, integration effort, and data residency.
- Analysis of existing IT and architecture structures as well as identification of concrete optimization potentials.
- Definition of architecture processes and standards to be applied in projects.
- Active participation in complex transformation and implementation projects – from architectural decisions to technical implementation.
- Resolution of target conflicts between business requirements, technology, security, operations, costs, and standardization.
- Ensuring fast, robust, and technically sound decisions without purely conceptual "PowerPoint EAM".
Requirements
- Completed university degree in computer science, business informatics, industrial engineering, or a comparable technically oriented degree program.
- Strong technical decision-making ability, high personal responsibility, and hands-on mentality.
- Ability to represent technical issues to management, business departments, IT, security, purchasing, and external partners in a decision-oriented manner.
- Several years of in-depth professional experience in enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, or strategic IT architecture.
- Demonstrable experience with EAM methods and tools, especially TOGAF and LeanIX or comparable frameworks and repository approaches.
- In-depth practical knowledge of at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud) as well as cloud operating models, landing zones, and hybrid architectures.
- Experience in developing and evaluating complex application, data, integration, and technology architectures.
- Experience in the technical management of cloud migrations and IT transformations.
- In-depth knowledge of TCO, license, and cost evaluations of IT/cloud architectures as well as in the technical evaluation of sourcing and vendor decisions.
- Proficient German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
