About the Role
As a Health Educator, you will work closely with students and the community to educate them on pressing health needs. You will create lesson plans, activities, and community events to promote health and safety, counsel individuals, and offer advice and references.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging lesson plans, activities, and events to help individuals and families within the community maintain a healthy, active lifestyle
- Use data from a variety of sources to inform lesson plans and policies
- Prepare appropriate documents and educational materials for distribution
- Counsel students and community members on pressing issues
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal guidelines in regards to health education
Requirements
- State teaching certification
- Strong understanding of health-related issues that the community is facing
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and social media
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
