About the Role
The Figma Research team is hiring an experienced researcher to support our core product, Figma Design. You will shape and execute research to drive scale, tap new opportunities, and ensure Figma continues pushing innovation in design and production tooling. Partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering, you'll bring a deep passion for research and strategy, pushing the envelope with AI-led experiences and laddering key user needs to critical product decisions — tackling our highest impact problems and influencing company strategy for both the short- and long-term.
Responsibilities
- Help Figma grow and innovate by delivering strategic research and recommendations and materially influencing the vision and strategy for Figma Design
- Partner closely with product leaders to identify opportunities, generate strategy, and define success
- Break down complex business challenges into clear research plans; own the end to end research process and leverage strong storytelling skills to deliver meaningful impact to Figma's businesses
- Translate research insights into a compelling narrative that shapes product roadmap priorities
- Advocate for the role of Research as a strategic partner in the business process
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in UX research or user insights at a high growth B2B SaaS company
- Expertise in utilizing a variety of research methodologies, including both qualitative and quantitative techniques, to address product challenges spanning from opportunity identification, concept testing, to feature iterations — including research on AI-powered features or products exploring AI applications
- Demonstrated success in identifying assumptions that underpin key challenges, prioritizing the most critical assumptions, and creating right sized research approaches to test those critical assumptions
- A proven track record of gaining buy in from executive stakeholders and cross disciplinary partners, transcending mere research mechanics and findings to articulate a larger user story, and the "so what" to inspire action
- Ability to balance speed, rigor, and competing inputs — pivoting direction, weighing user research, strategy, business insights, and team input in decision-making, and seeking solutions in creative ways
- 2+ years in product design, user centric product management, product development, and/or front end engineering
- A familiarity and depth of experience using Figma's products
