Responsibilities

• Adhere to company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations.
• Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Provide superior customer service in accordance with Safeway programs.
• Stock shelves with fruits, vegetables, and related products (frozen, perishable, and non-perishable).
• Maintain and prepare displays according to Safeway programs.
• Rotate products.
• Load and unload products for the sales floor.
• Manage the back stock and inventory.
• Operate a cash register as needed during peak hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• High motivation and team spirit.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Works safely and responsibly.
• Ability to work a variable schedule.
• Availability in the evening and on weekends is strongly encouraged.
• Must be available at all times on Sunday (Alberta only).
• Constant lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
• Constant need to stretch and grip items.
• Frequent need to bend, walk, stand, twist, push, or pull.
• Occasional need to lift items weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
• Occasional use of computer and point-of-sale system.
• Occasional need to crouch, kneel, and squat.
