About the Role
HR Tech Europe is seeking an ambitious, commercially minded Event Manager to drive the event forward. This hands-on role involves responsibility for commercial performance, marketing, audience growth, event operations, content, and overall delivery, acting as the event owner to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Responsibilities
- Own the event P&L, revenue targets, budgets, and profitability in partnership with the Portfolio Director.
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy in collaboration with the sales team.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue from exhibition, sponsorship, and delegate sales.
- Collaborate with Sales to create propositions, packages, and new commercial opportunities.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Cultivate strong relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and key customers.
- Oversee the audience growth strategy and attendance targets.
- Partner with Marketing to create campaigns that boost registrations, engagement, and retention.
- Utilize audience data, research, and market insights to identify new sectors, personas, and acquisition channels.
- Develop partnerships, communities, and promotional activities to expand HR Tech Europe's reach.
- Ensure the event proposition remains relevant, differentiated, and appealing to senior HR decision-makers.
- Manage the successful execution of the event from planning through post-event analysis.
- Liaise with Operations and external suppliers to ensure high-quality delivery within time and budget constraints.
- Manage the critical path, event milestones, deadlines, and risk management.
- Lead the event team onsite and serve as the senior point of escalation during the event.
- Guarantee an outstanding experience for exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and attendees.
- Review event performance and customer feedback to implement improvements for future events.
- Collaborate with editorial/content teams to align the program with current HR and technology trends.
- Build relationships with senior HR leaders, industry influencers, technology companies, and strategic partners.
- Identify new formats, features, and experiences to enhance engagement and differentiate HR Tech Europe.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the HR technology market, competitors, and emerging trends, including AI and the future of work.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing a B2B event, conference, exhibition, or similar commercial product.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience with revenue targets, budgets, and/or P&L.
- Experience collaborating with sales and marketing teams to drive event growth.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-first mindset and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence interacting with senior executives, clients, partners, and external suppliers.
- Ability to analyze data and translate insights into commercial and audience-growth decisions.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach.
- Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.
- Experience in HR, HR technology, B2B technology, or an adjacent sector is advantageous but not essential.
