About the Role
B&H is seeking Pro Video Content Writers to create product descriptions, research products, and update the B&H website. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about video, content creation, and technology, with a strong understanding of video production workflows, camera systems, and gear matching.
Responsibilities
- Craft product descriptions
- Research products
- Update the B&H website with new and accurate product information
- Write material that conforms to current B&H style and standards
- Organize and prioritize assigned products based on internal guidelines
- Respond to update requests to correct or modify product descriptions
- Stay informed on current market trends and technologies
- Research and quickly learn about new products
- Focus on high-profile items and major announcements (Senior Content Writer)
- Lead category style decisions and discussions on changing standards and updates for product subcategories (Senior Content Writer)
- Work on advanced creative content, including landing pages, rich content descriptions, and cross-category writeups with minimal supervision (Senior Content Writer)
Requirements
- Past filmmaking or industry-related experience to form an inherent knowledge base for talking about gear
- Excited about filmmaking
- Strong working knowledge and unfettered curiosity
- In-depth knowledge of photography and related industry practices
- Strong writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Understanding of various video production workflows
- Familiarity with how different types of gear can be matched to different levels of video and filmmaking
- Knowledge of differences between large-format and Super35
- Knowledge of how to build a complete cinema rig
- Knowledge of how to select a support system
- Knowledge of benefits afforded by open gate shooting
- Knowledge of how to properly monitor for anamorphic lenses
