About the Role
The Experience team owns the human-facing side of Callsign, including the client portal, demo and client management platform, data-product UIs, and the design system. This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, ideally starting in 2026, and requires the right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from ambiguous requirements to shipped experience, filling design gaps with defensible decisions and delivering a coherent flow.
- Contribute actively in refinement, challenging requirements with evidence, proposing simpler alternatives, and bringing product ideas.
- Understand the outcome each feature serves, instrumenting shipped features for measurable outcomes and verifying their success through usage, feedback, and demo performance.
- Understand the domain (fraud, identity, authentication, and client operational world) sufficiently for gap-filling decisions to be informed.
- Implement non-trivial components and asynchronous data flows.
- Diagnose and fix performance and accessibility issues.
- Handle secrets and configuration surfaces safely.
- Ship features spanning frontend, backend service, and configuration.
- Debug across boundaries to identify root causes.
- Write designs for significant changes that others can review before coding.
- Design the test approach for features, including unit, component, and end-to-end coverage.
- Maintain regression suites and fix end-to-end failures.
- Implement toolchain and pipeline improvements, including build configuration, CI automation, test infrastructure, and dependency upgrades.
- Ship across the stack: TypeScript/React frontends, Node services, API contracts, GitLab CI/CD, and deployment via Helm, GitOps, and Terraform.
- Treat accessibility, performance, and security as core engineering principles.
- Build with AI as a core part of the workflow, with verification discipline.
- Learn the domain deliberately (fraud, identity, authentication, client operational world).
- Write meaningful tests for all shipped work.
Requirements
- Solid JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience.
- Comfort working beyond the frontend, such as with an API, service, or infrastructure.
- Experience with system design and architecture, designing features spanning frontend, service, and configuration.
- Evidence of AI-native working with stated verification.
- A testing instinct, with the ability to design and defend a test approach.
- Product judgment demonstrated through history, including UX decisions made and defended without a design spec.
- Experience owning a surface or program through challenging periods.
- Experience in regulated industries (fintech, identity, payments) is a plus.
- Java in production is a plus.
- Design systems or component library work is a plus.
- SDK or library engineering is a plus.
- Data visualization experience is a plus.
