About the Role

The Experience team owns the human-facing side of Callsign, including the client portal, demo and client management platform, data-product UIs, and the associated design system and engineering standards. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product surface (portal domain, demo platform, SDK) and holds its product decision right.
  • Decide what ships and how it works within the direction Product sets.
  • Translate a brief into an MVP and phases, define success measures, and reshape or kill work that will not move them.
  • Own a live measurement baseline (adoption, task success, performance) for your surface.
  • Propose what to build next based on product conviction derived from user and client contact.
  • Ship client-facing work without design review.
  • Set the technical standard for the estate; your code is the reference.
  • Lead the response to performance, accessibility, or security findings and anticipate them at design time.
  • Own services and their delivery machinery end-to-end (GitLab pipelines, charts, GitOps, infrastructure).
  • Design API contracts that consumers can use long-term.
  • Execute cross-repo changes (decommissions, migrations) safely across team boundaries.
  • Lead design review for your surface.
  • Own the testing strategy for a surface, including the release regression cycle.
  • Coordinate and maintain the integrity of the testing cycle, driving flake to zero.
  • Own platform programs (package-manager and framework migrations, test-framework transitions, runtime upgrades) end-to-end.
  • Translate roadmaps into epics for execution by others.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Ship across the stack: TypeScript/React frontends, Node services, API contracts, GitLab CI/CD, and deployment via Helm, GitOps, and Terraform.
  • Treat accessibility, performance, and security as engineering disciplines with rising expectations.
  • Build with AI as a core part of your workflow, with verification discipline for regulated products.
  • Learn the domain deliberately (fraud, identity, authentication, client operational world).
  • Write meaningful tests for all shipped work.

Requirements

  • Must hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Solid JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience.
  • Comfort working beyond the frontend, such as with an API, service, or infrastructure.
  • Experience with system design and architecture, designing features spanning frontend, service, and configuration.
  • Evidence of AI-native working with stated verification.
  • A testing instinct: ability to design and defend a test approach.
  • Experience owning a product surface or platform program through challenging periods.
  • Ability to architect a live frontend estate (state, contracts, testing, deployment).
  • Evidence of raising a team's standards.
  • Demonstrable product judgment.
  • Experience in regulated industries (fintech, identity, payments) is a plus.
  • Java in production is a plus.
  • Design systems or component library work is a plus.
  • SDK or library engineering is a plus.
  • Data visualization experience is a plus.
