About the Role
Curtis Lumber is seeking a Sales Associate/Yard Material Handler to manage customer needs in-store and assist with material handling in the outdoor yard. This role involves taking phone calls, building quotes and orders, assisting customers, and loading/unloading materials safely.
Responsibilities
- Take phone calls, build quotes and orders for pick up or delivery.
- Assist all customers’ needs as they enter the store.
- Provide exceptional customer service in the outdoor yard environment.
- Use proper material handling practices and PPE to load, unload, and store material.
- Understand the building materials marketplace and know product features.
- Meet prospect customers’ needs with excellent customer service skills.
- Utilize effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add-on sales techniques.
- Employ effective closing techniques.
- Follow up on quotes to convert them to orders.
- Share expertise with others.
- Manage inventory and merchandise product.
- Safely use equipment and materials.
- Work outside year-round in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
