About the Role
The Server is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for locals by anticipating needs and offering friendly, engaging, and individualized attention. The role involves educating customers about menu items, maximizing sales, and performing other duties such as finalizing food orders and using the point of sale system.
Responsibilities
- Communicates and interacts with locals using clear and enthusiastic words, tone of voice and body language.
- Makes locals feel appreciated and valued throughout interactions.
- Contributes positively to the team environment, working cohesively with one another to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Attends to locals in a manner consistent with the Bluestone Lane Steps of Service.
- Maintains professional composure and local engagement during periods of high-volume.
- Maintains an organized and hygienic working environment, cleans routinely and proactively restocks items.
- Performs well under pressure and maintains efficient, friendly, and engaging local experience.
- Follows Bluestone Lane operating procedures and processes, including completing transactions accurately and following safety and security measures.
- Services tables with a focus on upselling food & beverage.
- Refills beverages at the right time.
- Educates and excites locals with a deep understanding of the menu.
- Works closely with back-of-house teammates to ensure accurate & efficient order placement.
- Achieves operational criteria of $30 per customer with a 30-minute stay through checking in, upselling & focused service.
- Services locals with all needs, remembering names, faces, and orders.
- Clears tables in a timely manner, checking in with locals a minimum of 5 times during their stay.
- Builds relationships and human connection through personalization and conversation.
- Ensures product is plated to perfection.
- Provides quality product with speed and accuracy.
- Resets and follows Bluestone Lane table presentation standards in a timely manner.
- Ensures floor & workspace are always clean and fully functioning.
- Maintains grooming guidelines.
Requirements
- You have 1+ years’ experience as a server or in sales.
- You have a minimum one-year experience in a customer service/food industry environment and a passion to provide exceptional customer experience.
- You can work in a high stress, fast paced work environment.
- You can stand for extended periods and lift to 40lbs.
