About the Role
BCG X is a collective of technology and digital experts within Boston Consulting Group, responsible for building businesses and products using technology and data. We combine strategic consulting knowledge with advanced expertise in areas like AI, software engineering, product development, and UX design to support client transformation from conception to implementation and scaling.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to value creation by proposing and building solutions that leverage digital technologies, particularly generative AI and cloud.
- Select appropriate technology stacks (Web/mobile apps, data platforms, cloud infrastructure) based on project scope, client environment, and constraints, and lead the development process.
- Lead the implementation of DevOps/MLOps and QA to ensure development efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate agilely with cross-functional teams (PMs, data scientists, designers, consultants, etc.), bridging a wide range of perspectives including UX, data models, and business models with technical viewpoints.
- Form development teams, including external contractors, and lead agile development to achieve rapid hypothesis testing and business impact creation within limited timeframes.
- Clearly visualize and communicate technical approaches and their effects on business challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the establishment of systems and models that clients can operate appropriately.
- Propose technology selections and best practices based on knowledge of the latest technology trends and future potential, and elevate the technical level both internally and externally.
Requirements
- This is a new graduate position for individuals currently enrolled in a graduate program, not for those with full-time work experience. Candidates with work experience should apply for the mid-career Forward Deployed AI Engineer position.
- Expected completion of a Master's or Ph.D. program in a related field between September 2027 and August 2028.
- Undergraduate degree holders are not eligible.
- Coding skills in Python, TypeScript, etc.
- Experience in software development/operation (Web/mobile front-end/back-end) and cloud infrastructure construction.
- Research or internship experience in a related field.
- English proficiency (conversational level or higher).

- Ability to understand the client's business situation and devise solutions based on it.
- Ability to apply advanced development and analysis methods to real business and achieve results.

- Ability to visualize complex technical concepts and explain them in a way that is understandable to non-experts.

- Development experience for large-scale services or enterprise SaaS
- Experience handling structured/unstructured data (RDB/NoSQL, streaming data)
- Understanding of DevOps/MLOps
- Experience in production deployment of large-scale data analytics, analytical models, and workflows
