About the Role
Viridian Staffing's Client is seeking a Full-Time Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support the Canadian Cannabis market. This role will oversee all retail stores, launch new dispensaries, and ensure operational effectiveness and maximum store performance. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, compliance-focused, and committed to creating a customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all retail stores and launch new dispensaries in Canada.
- Staff and manage new stores during the launch phase.
- Recruit and mentor new store General Managers (GMs) on policies and procedures.
- Partner with corporate to ensure KPIs and metrics are met.
- Drive continuous improvement across all locations.
- Manage existing teams, including GMs and Buyers.
- Develop new teams passionate about cannabis and exceptional customer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building customer-obsessed retail teams focused on continuous improvement.
- Ideally, at least 1+ year of experience managing multiple stores in the regulated Cannabis Industry.
- Experience building out a store from the ground up.
- Experience managing and growing sales in an established regulated Cannabis store.
- Ability to travel up to 100% throughout Canada (Mostly in the Ontario Province).
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Knowledge and experience with accounting, marketing, human resources, and supply chain.
- Ability to manage essential business functions without corporate office support.
- Proven retail leadership skills.
- Results-driven with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
- Excel at motivating, coaching, training, and mentoring staff.
