About the Role
Planted is seeking a Growth Lead to establish and build the company's business in Australia. This role involves representing Planted as the first local contact, focusing on selling high-density solar systems that are robot-installed. The position requires building a sales channel through local EPCs and developing techno-economic cases to win projects, while also clearing obstacles and representing Planted within the Australian market.
Responsibilities
- Establish the Australian market by building and managing relationships with developers, IPPs, EPCs, and industrial buyers.
- Own opportunities from initial contact to signed agreements, determining where Planted's capacity should be allocated.
- Build the sales channel by identifying, training, and structuring partnerships with local EPCs.
- Develop and defend techno-economic models comparing Planted's system against alternatives, considering yield, cost, labor, and schedule.
- Identify and resolve deal-specific questions by coordinating internal experts and external specialists.
- Act as the primary interface for Planted in Australia, representing the company credibly and gathering market feedback to inform product and commercial strategies.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in commercial, business development, or delivery roles on Australian utility-scale solar or adjacent infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in how Australian large-scale solar projects are procured, financed, contracted, and constructed.
- High degree of autonomy, with the ability to set priorities, work unsupervised, and influence remote teams.
- A strong network of relationships with Australian developers, IPPs, EPCs, owner's engineers, or industrial and mining energy teams.
- Proven experience in channel and partner selling, understanding how to make partner economics work.
- Hands-on experience with techno-economic modeling, project estimating, or infrastructure deal structuring.
