About the Role

Lola Blankets is a fast-growing comfort and lifestyle brand seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to establish world-class import and logistics capabilities. This role involves rebuilding the transportation network, managing import compliance, and optimizing the product journey from ex-factory to in-stock.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Lola’s inbound transportation network and processes, from ex-factory to warehouse dock.
  • Decide routing and port strategy for each Lola warehouse.
  • Define clear roles and handoffs between vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and Lola warehouses.
  • Establish and maintain strong forwarder relationships, managing day-to-day operations.
  • Negotiate ocean rates, contract allocations, peak-season space, drayage, and accessorials.
  • Partner with Finance, Production, and Planning to ensure strong terms and payment compliance.
  • Establish accurate dashboarding and reporting of costs and service levels; own budgets and results.
  • Own importer-of-record compliance in every market: customs brokers, bonds, ISF, entries, and duty payment.
  • Own HTS classification, country-of-origin documentation, valuation, and duty rate accuracy.
  • Maintain all import and product compliance documentation; keep audit-ready records and respond to customs inquiries.
  • Own the inbound playbook: booking, documentation, tracking, reporting, exceptions, and claims.
  • Maintain accurate shipment visibility from ex-factory to stock, with tracking and clear ETAs.
  • Keep a clean record for every shipment for accounting review.
  • Partner with 3PL warehouses on appointment scheduling, dock capacity, and receiving SLAs.
  • Plan container flow around seasonal peaks to ensure receiving keeps up with demand.
  • Resolve issues such as delays, damage, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Track ex-factory to in-stock lead time and drive it down.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in international logistics or import operations.
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing ocean freight from Asia at scale for a US importer brand.
  • Hands-on experience building or rebuilding an import and inbound logistics function from scratch.
  • Deep working knowledge of US customs: ISF, entries, HTS classification, bonds, and duty.
  • Experience importing into Canada and other international markets is a strong plus.
  • A track record of selecting, contracting, and managing freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Ability to use data, reporting, and systems management to drive cross-team transparency.
  • Strong commercial skills: rate negotiation, contract terms, and land-cost modeling.
  • Experience working with 3PL warehouses on inbound receiving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, highly seasonal consumer business.
  • Experience working with offshore and intermediate warehousing a plus.
