About the Role

The Doe Fund has partnered with NYCEDC's Graffiti Free NYC Program to hire full-time workers. This role involves removing graffiti across the five boroughs, utilizing customized vehicles equipped with power washers and paint sprayers. The program aims to provide vocational and job training to improve career trajectories and secure higher-paid employment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean graffiti, pressure wash, and paint walls, mailboxes, lampposts, etc.
  • Perform other duties as needed, such as emergency snow removal, cleaning vacant buildings, or clearing debris from storm aftermath.
  • Drive and utilize navigation/GPS to locations.
  • Wear and carry photo identification, visible to the public at all times while on duty.
  • Perform other duties related to the goals of the department.
  • Use chemicals and high-powered equipment.
  • Maintain time and attendance.

Requirements

  • Driver's license required.
  • Driving record in good standing (must be approved by NYCEDC).
  • Ability to exert moderately heavy physical effort (up to 50 pounds) involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Demonstrated record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible, as work environments and duties may change.
  • Mandatory attendance for snow removal.
