About the Role
Benefit Cosmetics is seeking a strategic and connected PR Manager to lead Benefit Canada’s PR, media and influencer strategy. This role will develop and execute innovative, on-brand initiatives to strengthen brand desirability, generate high-quality earned media and creator coverage, and drive incremental brand awareness.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Canadian PR, media and influencer strategy and calendar in partnership with the Marketing Director.
- Translate global brand DNA and business priorities into impactful local action plans.
- Partner with U.S. and Global teams to localize and execute key programs, strengthen brand loyalty and measure performance.
- Lead PR planning and execution for product launches, brand storytelling and cultural moments.
- Support Benefit’s Bold is Beautiful program and charity partners.
- Develop and oversee press releases, media materials, key messages and marketing copy.
- Monitor beauty, cultural and social media trends, competitor activity and emerging talent.
- Leverage and expand network of Canadian beauty editors, influencers, creators, agents and talent managers.
- Proactively pitch compelling brand and product stories across print, digital and social media channels.
- Lead influencer and creator relations from identification and outreach through briefing, gifting, content development, partnership negotiation and ongoing relationship management.
- Oversee product seeding and PR mailers.
- Conceptualize and execute press and influencer events, desk sides, brand experiences and launch moments.
- Manage editorial tracking and media-monitoring services, evaluate earned media and creator performance.
- Manager PR budgets, monthly P&L statements & paid partnerships.
- Oversee PR product & TOA forecasting, ordering & inventory while negotiating costs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of public relations experience (background in beauty is an asset).
- Excellent written, verbal & presentation skills, able to influence.
- Established relationships with Canadian beauty editors, journalists, influencers, creators, talent managers and agencies.
- Proven ability to translate relationships into meaningful earned coverage and brand advocacy.
- Organized multi-tasker with proven track record of achieving results, driving projects & problem solving efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong analytical skills to measure coverage, engagement, reach and overall campaign performance.
- Agency experience is an asset.
- Ability to travel as required.
