About the Role

Coordinates all consultations for the Outpatient Infusion Center, serving as a liaison between referring physician offices, patients, and staff to ensure timely appointment scheduling and complete patient intake information. Utilizes various information systems for scheduling and patient record processing, while demonstrating outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient infusion scheduling based on referring physician requests and established protocols.
  • Manages patient schedules from various sources, including physician schedule changes, setup, and validation.
  • Gathers and compiles all necessary patient medical record information, test results, and reports.
  • Provides reception services and acts as a patient liaison to ensure efficient patient throughput and a positive patient experience.
  • Serves as a patient liaison between visits and the infusion/procedural suite.
  • Prepares patient forms, ID bracelets, and advises patients on necessary preparations.
  • Performs general clerical functions to support accurate and effective scheduling.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably outpatient.
  • Experience with telephone reception and scheduling preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Epic preferred.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of the patient scheduling process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to understand and independently follow established protocols regarding triage of patient schedules.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving tactics.

Experience Level

  • Minimum of two years of experience

Education Level

  • Associate's degree or training/certification in a clinical setting preferred.
