About the Role
EAC Network is seeking a dedicated Community Visitation Specialist to provide supervised parent-child visitation services for families in the Nassau County Family Treatment Court Program. This role supports safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate family interactions in community settings, promoting recovery, family engagement, and reunification.
Responsibilities
- Attend Nassau County Family Treatment Court staffing meetings for case assignments, referrals, and visitation plans.
- Facilitate and supervise parent-child visitation in community-based, child-friendly, and neutral settings.
- Transport families to and from visits using a personal vehicle, if needed.
- Monitor parent-child interactions during visits, ensuring compliance with court orders, safety plans, and program requirements.
- Promote safe and positive parent-child engagement through observation, encouragement, and redirection.
- Maintain professional boundaries and neutrality during visitation sessions.
- Document visitation sessions accurately and timely, including attendance, observations, engagement, concerns, and recommendations.
- Communicate significant observations, safety concerns, and missed visits to supervisory staff and the treatment court team.
- Coordinate visitation schedules with parents, caregivers, treatment providers, and court personnel.
- Assist with transportation coordination and support activities to overcome barriers to participation.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
- Utilize trauma-informed, family-centered, and culturally responsive practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect participant information.
- Testify in court when subpoenaed or required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, families, human services programs, child welfare, court-involved populations, or behavioral health is preferred.
- Ability to observe and objectively document parent-child interactions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and secure children into appropriate child restraint car seats.
- Ability to work independently in community settings while maintaining communication with supervisory staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and electronic documentation systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
