About the Role
The Material Handler reports to the Molding Shift Supervisor and is responsible for delivering packing supplies to the Molding production floor from the Warehouse, and to deliver molded skids to the Warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Stacking, wrapping, and delivering completed molded skids, ensuring boxes are placed per packing specifications.
- Tightly wrapping skids to properly secure boxes.
- Creating Pallet IDs for all skids of products produced.
- Performing Molding and IML production MP transaction scanning.
- Delivering wrapped skids to the warehouse for storage using an electric pallet jack.
- Assisting in transporting products for QC to and from the Warehouse.
- Keeping records of Pallet IDs created during MP transactions for tracking.
- Replenishing packing supplies at scheduled machines by following IPS and signing off line clearance sheets.
- Replenishing empty skids on the production floor.
- Removing broken or damaged skids to the warehouse.
- Replenishing the tape machine when empty.
- Keeping records of corrugates, liner bags, and U boards brought to the production floor for traceability.
- Performing line clearance during product change.
- Collecting purge, drool, and scrap bags from the production floor and placing them in blue bins.
- Clearing scrap products from machine areas and placing them into scrap bins.
- Recharging the battery of the electric pallet jack when low.
- Performing daily checks on the pallet jack and keeping records, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience handling an electric pallet jack is an asset.
- Certified in operating a walkie pallet jack.
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform reaching above and below shoulder height, kneeling, bending, and repetitive movements such as gripping, grasping, pushing, and pulling.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
