About the Role

Awin's Unlock the Clock (UTC) programme aims to build the evidence base and infrastructure for advanced measurement beyond last click, utilizing deterministic, CDN/edge-level signals and publisher data connections to demonstrate full-funnel and AI-discovery influence. This role is crucial for acquiring and retaining publishers to scale this dataset. The Senior Partnerships Manager, Media & Data will lead the end-to-end pursuit of medium-to-large global media publications and publisher groups, establishing commercial value exchanges to position Awin as a leading partner. The initial focus is on securing flagship, tier-one lighthouse partnerships to validate the model and set market standards. This is a new, dedicated role focused solely on spearheading these strategic relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Land flagship media partnerships by building and owning a global target list of medium-to-large media publications and publisher groups.
  • Own the full pursuit cycle for targets, including identification, qualification, pitching, negotiation, closing, and handover to onboarding, leading senior-level conversations.
  • Deliver a defined number of tier-one lighthouse partnerships in year one, ensuring signed tracking addendums, technical onboarding, and verifiable event recording.
  • Convert wins into reference cases, including case studies and joint narratives, to shorten future sales cycles.
  • Build and continuously refine the publisher value proposition, articulating commercial, editorial, and strategic benefits of sharing data signals.
  • Construct and negotiate the value exchange, including new revenue streams, advertiser demand, insights, and commercial terms.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing to translate AI-visibility and full-funnel capabilities into publisher-facing propositions and collateral.
  • Assist partners in developing their own value propositions to offer advertisers.
  • Equip partners to sell their propositions through joint collateral, benchmarks, and training.
  • Provide feedback on publisher objections, commercial expectations, and market intelligence to inform the project roadmap.
  • Own the technical and contractual path to live integrations, managing discussions on CDN/edge worker deployment, tag and consent implications, data scope, and page performance.
  • Manage the commercial and legal process, including tracking addendums, data-sharing terms, and privacy positions, working towards repeatable agreements.
  • Hold partners accountable for going live and maintaining live status, tracking conversion from signed agreements to verified events.
  • Operate globally across UK, EU, and US, coordinating with local Awin market and Publisher Development teams.
  • Act as the single point of accountability and internal voice for media partner acquisition within the project, representing the workstream in forums and reporting to SteerCo level.
  • Partner with advertiser-facing teams to ensure publisher supply and advertiser demand are sequenced effectively.
  • Represent Awin externally at industry events, conferences, and partner forums to promote the Unlock the Clock programme and Awin’s measurement strategy.
  • Build the playbook by documenting successful strategies for future scaling and team development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in commercial, partnership, or account leadership roles, with significant experience on the publisher or media owner side.
  • Established personal network of senior contacts across the media and publishing world.
  • Experience representing an organization publicly, including speaking at industry events, panels, or partner forums.
  • Demonstrable track record of senior-level relationships within premium publishers or media groups.
  • Experience negotiating and closing commercial agreements with or on behalf of publishers.
  • Working knowledge of the affiliate and performance ecosystem and how publishers monetize content.
  • Experience selling or launching new products, models, or propositions without an established category.
  • Comfortable navigating multi-stakeholder deals involving commercial, editorial, legal, privacy, and technical teams.
  • International exposure across at least two of UK, US, and DACH/EMEA markets.
  • Commercially creative, capable of constructing value exchanges without a predefined price list.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with genuine credibility at a senior level.
  • Strong negotiation skills, comfortable with ambiguity and long sales cycles.
  • Excellent storytelling ability, translating technical capabilities into publisher-relevant revenue narratives.
  • Confident and credible public speaker, comfortable presenting Awin’s strategy.
  • Self-starting, resilient, and comfortable in a build role.
  • Collaborative with a low ego, comfortable engaging engineering, legal, product, and local market teams.
  • Analytically confident, fluent in performance data, and able to interrogate reporting.
  • Strategic mindset paired with a bias for action and closing deals.
  • Technically literate, capable of holding credible conversations about tracking, CDNs, page performance, and data flows.
  • Confident with analytics and reporting platforms.
  • Comfortable working with privacy and consent concepts, including GDPR.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • Willingness to travel to relevant markets as required.
