About the Role

This role requires a proven track record of building relationships to develop lower-middle market relationships with corporations and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $5 million to $500 million. The position focuses on growing and retaining profitable relationships by delivering value-added solutions to clients and prospects, aiming to help them reach their goals and maximize revenues over the life of the relationship. This is a fully experienced, qualified relationship manager role capable of independent activity, requiring strong client relationship skills, extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and transaction execution skills. Credit process management is critical, and performance is measured by effectiveness in marketing areas such as calling activity, proposal generation, revenue generation, risk mitigation, relationship building, and contributing to the franchise's long-term growth. The role also involves seeking cross-selling opportunities and anticipating future client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit commercial clients; aggressively seeks and obtains quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross selling efforts.
  • Obtain and maintain COI's and attend various networking events in the assigned geographic area.
  • Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans.
  • Close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range.
  • Contribute to deposit growth by cross selling and promoting additional banking products.
  • Lead and manage team through training, developing, and coaching associates on a consistent basis.
  • Encourage others to set challenging goals and high standards of performance.
  • Inspire associates to define new opportunities and continuously improve the organization.
  • Celebrate and reward significant achievements of associates.
  • Present logical and persuasive case for proposals and positions.
  • Assist team in addressing their individual strengths and development needs.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of building relationships.
  • Fully experienced, qualified relationship manager capable of independent activity.
  • Proven client relationship skill.

  • Technical expertise.
  • Strong transaction execution skills.
  • Credit process management is a critical component.
  • Familiarity of the sales, loan processing and closing processes.
  • Ability to expand loans, client relationships and cross sell bank products.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
  • Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.
  • Able to perform very simple algebra.
  • Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
  • Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
  • Ability to conduct training, communicates at panel discussions, and make professional presentations.
