About the Role
Make a difference in the lives of nursing students by providing a variety of teaching experiences in classroom, lab, clinicals, and community events.
Responsibilities
- Teach department theory and clinical courses.
- Evaluate student performance according to departmental and College guidelines.
- Report to the Executive Dean within the Academic Unit.
- Prepare lessons for theory and clinical, including student learning outcome activities.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit pertinent data.
- Demonstrate current knowledge of clinical practice.
- Provide documentation reflecting current knowledge and clinical practice.
- Develop test questions and exams aligned with test blueprints.
- Utilize current technology in clinical agencies.
- Complete required orientations for clinical agencies.
- Provide students with appropriate learning materials and expertise.
- Prepare course syllabi articulating student learning outcomes, course outcomes, and program outcomes.
- Align learning activities with Departmental course objectives, outcomes, and program outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance based on course learning objectives, course outcomes, and program outcomes in both clinical and theory.
- Assist students as a faculty advisor and hold office hours.
- Provide instructional support to assist students.
- Serve on departmental, unit, and college committees.
- Provide an appropriate learning environment for students.
- Respond to students and provide assistance and guidance.
- Contribute to and maintain an inclusive and collaborative College environment.
- Adhere to all College and departmental procedures and policies.
- Follow the process outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
- Fulfill all duties as required in the FFECC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current, unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse's license.
- Recent clinical experience in a specialized area.
- Required Basic Life Support (BLS for the Health Care Provider).
- Attach unofficial transcripts with application.
- Official transcripts will be required for successful candidates within 30 days.
