About the Role

This is an existing vacancy for a full-time contract Individual and Family Therapist for the Intensive In-Home Treatment (IIHT) program. The therapist will provide therapeutic and service coordination to children aged 6-12 and their families in Scarborough and East York, utilizing flexible service delivery to reduce barriers and accommodate client needs. The role involves conducting family and individual assessments, counseling, and group services to help clients achieve treatment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy and treatment utilizing client-centered, trauma informed, evidence-based interventions to children presenting with mental health concerns and their families.
  • Consult and collaborate with community partners, agencies and individuals regarding children’s mental health to guide treatment plan development and implementation.
  • Ensure service delivery, including admission, reason for referral, and discharge planning, is clinically appropriate, coordinated, and timely.
  • Enter clinical information into the organization’s client information system and maintain up-to-date clinical reports and recordings.
  • Incorporate ongoing learning and evidence-based/informed practices to enhance clinical work.
  • Support the learning of new staff and/or colleagues.
  • Work in a safe manner and adhere to established health and safety measures and practices.

Requirements

  • Registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • Master’s level education (Master of Social Work or equivalent).
  • One year of related experience post master’s completion.
  • Awareness of the role of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) in the workplace and community.
  • Understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of social determinants of health.
  • Ability to recognize and identify situations where imbalances of power and privilege may occur and result in negative impacts.
  • Must complete or obtain a Vulnerable Sector police check before employment commencement.
