About the Role

The Counselor is responsible for delivering and implementing long-term supervision, support, and clinical services to chemically dependent adolescents with co-occurring mental health problems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing screening of residents and resident property.
  • Supervise clients in self-medication.
  • Complete assessments and intakes, orienting clients to their rights, responsibilities, and program expectations.
  • Facilitate admissions or referrals to other programs for clients needing services not offered.
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling services.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned caseload during treatment, focusing on appropriate levels of care and clinical interventions.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with referents and collateral contacts.
  • Maintain communication and teamwork with clinical staff to integrate and enhance clinical services.
  • Communicate pertinent information, incidents, and emergencies using appropriate systems.
  • Provide overall supervision and management of the client population in facilitating the daily house schedule.
  • Facilitate service groups.
  • Conduct toxicology testing as needed.
  • Exercise due diligence in delivering quality care in line with the agency Medicaid Compliance Plan.
  • Ensure communication of any violations of the agency’s Medicaid compliance plan and personnel policy to the compliance officer or supervisory structure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.
  • 1 year of experience working with adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems.

Salary/Compensations

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
