  • Ask for and give feedback.
  • Help others when needed.

  • Build good relationships with colleagues in Engineering, Product, and the wider company.
  • Respectfully challenge each other to understand the problem and come up with the best solutions.
  • Provide work updates to communicate regularly about progress and blockers.
  • Reach out for help when needed.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve our code, process, and practices.
  • Identify and help implement improvements to processes and standards within the team.
  • Optimise our workflow.
  • Share ideas for how to automate manual tasks.
  • Default to asynchronous written communication over long multiple person meetings.

Requirements

  • Mid-level engineer with generalist knowledge of product development concepts (software design, product requirements, work breakdown) and agile practices (TDD, CI/CD, architecture).

About the Company

  • The Engineering team at FundApps is a team of ca. 50 smart, friendly people who collaborate closely and take pride in delivering best-in-class software and providing an extraordinary experience to our clients.
  • We’re solving some of the most challenging problems in financial services - we operate in petabytes and milliseconds, not optimising the upload of cat photos.
  • Our clients use our service for multiple hours a day - what we do as engineers has a real life impact on thousands of people across the globe!
  • Our team values are professionalism, sustainability, and psychological safety; we hold each other to high standards, give each other considered and constructive feedback, work smart, and look out for each other.
  • FundApps is a fast-growing, bootstrapped scaleup.
  • We like keeping our tech stack modern and are not afraid to invest to keep it cutting edge!
  • We work agile, but do not follow any approach blindly - we seek 1% improvements in everything we do, try new things but don't hold to anything too tightly.
  • Fundamentally, we follow a Kanban-inspired approach, but we also take inspiration from Team Topologies, 12-factor, DevOps culture - and all the good agile practices that you have read about.
  • At FundApps we put these practices to work, reflect, and iterate to make sure our practices continue to serve us well.
  • Our Engineers look after a wide set of products and technical services; we don't strictly follow a micro-services approach, however we are working over time to evolve our codebase and our core technology to be distributed, cloud-native and resource- and cost-effective to power our growth while doing our bit to help FundApps be carbon neutral.
  • We release software when it's ready, not on a schedule - our teams deploy multiple times a day.
  • We minimise meetings (we have meeting-free Wednesdays) and default to asynchronous written communication over long multiple person meetings.

Equal Opportunity

  • We are proud of the diversity of all FundAppers - it makes us strong. We provide flexibility around religious observances and embrace a variety of cultural celebrations! If you’re looking for a workplace where you can just be yourself, you’re in the right place.
