About the Role

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including kids' birthday parties, within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by assisting customers with shopping and finding products, and ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to fulfill our Brand Promises.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
  • Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans for execution as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold company cleanliness and safety standards, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning before and after each event.
  • Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, completing enrollments.
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs for compliance.
  • Execute Company policies and standards.
  • Interact with others respectfully, remain positive, and promote the organization's vision and values.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restroom cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
  • Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
