About the Role

The Associate Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and telephone contact, adhering to established standards and practices. This role involves coordinating with the care team for seamless care delivery and assisting physicians with clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assisting MDs with procedures.
  • Performs clinical duties within scope of practice, complying with department standards, policies, and protocols.
  • Proactively addresses individual and family patient needs, communicating identified needs in a timely manner.
  • Directs and escorts patients to exam rooms promptly.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence assisting physicians/mid-level providers/nurses during exams and office diagnostic procedures/treatments.
  • Performs authorized procedures competently, such as vital signs, vision screening, and selected laboratory tests, as directed.
  • Seeks validation/guidance from physicians, mid-level providers, or nurses when necessary.
  • Prepares e-prescriptions for pharmacies as instructed by a physician per policy.
  • Inspects, cleans, prepares, and processes instruments/equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Processes specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling and order placement in EPIC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of related experience in this field

Skills

  • CPR/BLS certification
