About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Sr / Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our Asset Management – Investment Technology team in NYC. This role is critical in modernizing and supporting core investment platforms, focusing on scalable cloud-based architecture, full stack delivery, and robust engineering practices. You will work across investment technology stacks, engage directly with global stakeholders, and drive technology solutions for portfolio management and trading.

Responsibilities

  • Drive full stack application development using modern technologies across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
  • Design and implement scalable APIs with strong security, monitoring, and logging frameworks.
  • Develop rich UI components using frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Manage AWS based infrastructure components and CI/CD pipelines (CloudFormation, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS etc.).
  • Own the production environment operations and applications, reviewing and approving all changes before deployment.
  • Collaborate with business and product teams to shape requirements and translate them into technical specifications and delivery plans.
  • Interface with vendors for issue resolution, feature enhancements, and system integration.
  • Continuously seek automation opportunities to improve team efficiency.
  • Execute and/or oversee the creation of low-level design documents and detailed engineering specifications.
  • Write code that adheres to standards, procedures, and techniques, maintaining the integrity of existing program logic.
  • Complete deliverables using the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC).
  • Partner with the business and project team to gather requirements and plan/lead the development process.
  • Participate in project design walk-throughs and evaluate interrelationships between applications.
  • Address failure scenarios in design work and proactively plan/execute corrective action for production support issues.
  • Lead the code review process to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Write and/or revise system design documentation and operations documentation.
  • Ensure all code is effectively unit tested and resolve unit test issues.
  • Assist the quality assurance team in identifying test cases and creating/mining test data.
  • Respond to inquiries and issues during the testing process and into production.
  • Approve code to be put into production.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and technical leadership to a development team.
  • Provide governance oversight to ensure adherence to development strategy, standards, tools, and procedures.
  • Guide development teams to consistently apply appropriate development principles and standards.
  • Conduct annual asset health and security assessments.
  • Improve system asset health by identifying enhancements for performance, reliability, and resource consumption.
  • Track standards exceptions to ensure timely addressing of security gaps.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and lead root-cause analysis for production issues and system failures.
  • Determine corrective action and improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide implementation/production support as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date skills in software development technologies and a broad understanding of the business.
  • Provide expertise in the selection and implementation of development tools and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with business partners and project teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years in a lead role.
  • Strong command of full stack development: Javascript (React/Angular), Node.js or Java/.NET/ Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and services (Glue, Lambda, API gateway, IAM, S3, CloudWatch etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Github Actions, Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong API development and integration experience.
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Selenium).
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive cross-functional delivery in a matrix environment.
