About the Role

Lead an amazing Hospitality & Events Culinary team at a leading global investment bank in Central London. This role requires a passion for the food industry, collaboration, and a commitment to exceeding expectations. You will be at the core of kitchen operations, from menu planning to team mentoring, with full autonomy to innovate and personalize dishes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall kitchen operation, delivering fresh, seasonal, and on-trend menus for Hospitality & Events.
  • Lead a dedicated brigade, ensuring exceptional food quality, compliance with health and safety standards, and efficient kitchen practices.
  • Take full responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of Hospitality & Events Kitchens, overseeing the full offering from breakfast to a la carte lunch to canapes.
  • Plan, prepare, cook, and present seasonally changing menus to required standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a brigade of approximately 13 chefs.
  • Lead the safe supervision of all food production, preparation, cooking, and presentation, maintaining food quality reputation.
  • Collaborate with the Group Culinary Lead to drive food innovation, concept development, marketing, and implementation.
  • Ensure proactive food production, standards, costs, and menu planning for efficiency and economy without compromising quality.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient client service, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Oversee all food tastings, presentations, and food samplings, guiding the kitchen team in new menu implementations.
  • Enhance the company’s reputation for excellent food and service with clients and customers.
  • Hold regular 1-1s and appraisals, providing constructive feedback, monitoring development, and making recommendations for succession planning.
  • Take responsibility for all Health and Safety within the Kitchen, ensuring H&S audits are passed and acting on shortfalls.
  • Ensure due diligence records are completed accurately and on time, meeting statutory and company requirements in Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef in Events, Hotels, or high-end restaurants.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • NVQ qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of allergy management.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene certification.
  • Driven to deliver the highest quality of food.
  • Exemplary kitchen management practices and acting as an ambassador for WSH.
  • Maximizing commercial opportunities and being innovative and inspiring with culinary ideas for menus, ensuring creativity and profitability.
  • Create a professional working environment for the team, maintaining company standards and meeting client expectations.
  • Excellent mentoring, organisation, and communication skills.
