About the Role
Penske Media Corporation is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development to identify and execute new content distribution deals and manage contract renewals. This role involves proactive deal-making and collaboration with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Source, structure, negotiate, and execute new licensing and distribution deals that drive incremental revenue across the PMC portfolio of brands.
- Own independent deal pipeline and provide regular updates to SVP, Business Development and key executive stakeholders.
- Negotiate and execute renewals for existing content licensing deals and other Biz Dev partnerships in areas including content syndication, video distribution, product licensing, streaming, and social.
- Devise and test new revenue models to diversify revenue streams.
- Monitor the changing media industry and share insights with the PMC executive team.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in digital media business development or a similar role, preferably at a Media/Entertainment company.
- Solid understanding of contract review, including the ability to expertly review/redline contracts and collaborate with Legal.
- Strong negotiation skills, with expertise in developing leads, pitching partnership concepts, and conducting diligence.
- Demonstrated success in developing new revenue streams from owned IP through creative deal-making and partnerships.
- Deep understanding of Media and Entertainment industry revenue models with a proven track record of driving deals.
- Extensive experience in managing and optimizing partnerships through deal execution and beyond.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with high attention to detail.
- Expert communication skills with a proactive, extroverted demeanor and a strong sense of urgency.
- Adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment.
